Peter Moores is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in enforcement and military law. Currently serving as Senior Enforcement Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since September 2014, Peter has previously held significant roles in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, including Chief of Operational Law and Senior Defense Counsel. Notable mobilizations include serving as a legal advisor for the Capital Response Mission in Washington, DC, and the Covid-19 Response Mission for Massachusetts, along with deployment to Afghanistan as Trial Counsel for the 26th MEB. Peter's legal expertise is supported by a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Science from Harvard University. Prior to his current position, Peter was a partner at Choate, Hall & Stewart from 2003 to 2014.
