Sirimal Mukerjee

Sirimal Mukerjee is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in investment regulation, currently serving as a Senior Special Counsel in the Investment Adviser Regulation Office at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since November 2021. Mukerjee previously held the position of Branch Chief and Senior Counsel within the same office, contributing to rulemaking efforts in the Division of Investment Management from January 2019 to April 2021 and from June 2010 to October 2017. Prior to roles at the SEC, Mukerjee worked as an Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and Paul Hastings, and began the legal career as a Corporate Paralegal at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. Mukerjee holds a Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor’s degree with distinction in History and Sociology of Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
