Tyson M. Lies currently serves as Trial Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since October 2023. Prior to this role, Tyson worked as an Attorney at Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP, specializing in complex business litigation from February 2022 to October 2023. From April 2019 to January 2022, Tyson served as an Assistant United States Attorney, representing the United States in civil litigation within the District of Montana. Tyson's earlier experience includes working as a Securities Litigation and SEC Enforcement Associate at Jones Day from October 2014 to April 2019, where focus was on securities law claims and regulatory inquiries. Tyson began the legal career as a Law Clerk for Hon. Jane J. Boyle and holds a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from Brigham Young University.
