Rob Dartnall's work experience begins in 2004 when they worked as a Relationship Manager at Lombard. Rob then moved on to become a Business Development Manager at HS Finance from 2006 to 2008. In 2010, they joined the British Army and served as a Military Intelligence professional until 2014. Following that, they worked at the UK Ministry of Defence as a Team Lead in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, they served as a Security Consultant and later as a Senior Cyber Security Consultant and Commercial Lead at Computer Network Defence Ltd. In 2016, Dartnall became an Associate - Director Cyber Intelligence at Gartner, where they provided Cyber Threat Intelligence support for Gartner's Threat and Resiliency Assessments and Cyber Strategy development. Starting in 2018, Dartnall joined CREST as the Chair of the CREST Exec Board and also served as a CREST Exam Assessor, Author, and CTIPS Board Member. Finally, in 2023, they became the Chief Executive Officer at SecAlliance, where they focused on leading a team of Cyber Threat Intelligence Professionals and setting up and running national and international intelligence capabilities and intelligence sharing communities.

Rob Dartnall - CCTIM has a Bachelor's Degree in Intelligence and Security from Staffordshire University, which they pursued from 2014 onwards. Prior to that, they attended The Beauchamp College from 1998 to 2001, but it is unspecified whether they obtained a degree or pursued any specific field of study during that period.

In addition to their formal education, Rob Dartnall - CCTIM has achieved certifications in the field of information security. Rob obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in May 2021. In March 2016, they acquired the CREST Certified Threat Intelligence Manager certification from CREST.
