Director Of Neighbor Insights at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida

Lauren Moskowitz Cahen has extensive experience in the non-profit sector, particularly in the field of community impact and food distribution. Lauren worked at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida for over 13 years, holding positions such as Director of Neighbor Insights and Director of Community Impact. Prior to that, they worked as the Grocery Alliance Program Manager at the same organization.

Before their time at Second Harvest Food Bank, Lauren briefly worked as a Manager at Chamberlain's Natural Foods in 2008. Lauren also gained experience in marketing research and coordination at Akerman LLP, where they worked as a Marketing Research Analyst and Marketing Coordinator, respectively. Additionally, Lauren started their career at the Heart of Florida United Way as a Programmatic Specialist for the Ryan White Program.

Lauren Moskowitz Cahen's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Marketing, Mass Communication, and Political Science from the University of Central Florida, which they completed between 1999 and 2003. In 2011, they pursued an Executive Management Certification from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. In addition to their academic qualifications, Lauren also holds additional certifications. In 2016, they earned a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Lockheed Martin. Most recently, in June 2022, they completed the Feeding America Trauma Sensitive Training offered by Leah's Pantry.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida (SHFBCF) is a member of Feeding America – the largest charitable domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States. SHFBCF secures and distributes food and grocery products to more than 625 local nonprofit feeding partners throughout Central Florida.
