Jackie Marchildon is an experienced marketing and communications professional currently serving as the Interim Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Second Harvest since March 2024. Prior to this role, Jackie Marchildon held various positions at Global Citizen from May 2017 to February 2024, including Senior Director of Content and Managing Editor for North America. Jackie Marchildon's extensive background includes roles as a Bilingual Senior Editor at Yellow Pages NextHome, a Bilingual Online Editor at Metroland Media, and a Writer at Foliovision, among others. Jackie Marchildon holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University and completed an International Exchange Program at the Danish School of Journalism.
Second Harvest
Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue organization. We’re on a mission to grow our innovative, efficient food recovery network to fuel people and reduce the environmental impact of avoidable food waste. We believe that unsold surplus food should be rescued from across the supply chain and redirected to social service organization that feed communities. We have a network of non-profit, charitable and indigenous partners and locations across the country that help us do this work ensuring millions of pounds of food is rescued and redirected from landfills. In 2021 we rescued 41 million lbs of healthy perishable food and diverted it to more than 6400 food programs in charities and non-profits across Canada, averting over 162 million pounds of greenhouse gasses.
