Nicole McDonald

Nicole is the Director of National Programming at MakeWay, where she is focused on building solutions and partnerships that enable nature and communities to thrive together. Nicole’s journey into the philanthropic sector began at the McConnell Foundation as the Director of Indigenous Initiatives. Prior to this, she was a federal civil servant and had the opportunity to engage in several files including the Indian Residential School Resolution, the Urban Aboriginal Strategy and the Government of Canada’s Initiative on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Nicole holds a BA in International Studies and an MA in Political Science from the University of Saskatchewan. In addition to SecondMuse Foundation, Nicole serves on the Board of Directors of SeedChange and is on the Advisory Council for the Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund.
