Richard Pratt

Richard Pratt is currently the Associate Director at Secretariat International. Richard has over 17 years of experience in the construction industry, working in Hong Kong, Korea, Russia, and China.

Richard started their career as a Contract Administrator with EC Harris (Hong Kong), which later merged with Arcadis. Richard was then seconded to a leading Korean EPC Contractor based in their head office in Seoul, Korea, where they worked as a General Manager in the Contract Management Department. In this role, Richard provided contractual and commercial advice and support to the company's Hydrocarbon and Power Plant Projects worldwide.

While with the Korean EPC Contractor, Richard also acted as Lead Assistant to the Quantum Expert on behalf of the Respondent in an arbitration on a viaduct project in Hong Kong. Richard managed a team involved in forensic research and assessment of claims and the drafting of the independent report.

In addition, Richard was seconded to two Hydrocarbon projects in eastern Russia to review and report to senior management on the commercial and contractual approach to the administration of the contracts. Richard provided recommendations to avoid disputes, resolve issues and mitigate the risk to the project team, through the introduction of changes to the existing procedures and new practices. Richard was also involved in the successful negotiation of an acceleration claim and a full extension of time and associated costs.
