David Duffin has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries. David started their career in 1998 as an Assistant Store Manager at Block Buster Video, where they managed the store and supervised employees. In 2002, they transitioned to the security industry and worked as a Security Officer at Barton/ Allied Security until 2006. From 2003 to 2006, they also served as a Security Supervisor at 300 W. Adams, where they oversaw security personnel and assisted in their placement and training. In 2006, they joined ABM Security Services as a Director of Security, implementing policies and procedures and overseeing the activities of all security personnel. David held this position until 2012 when they moved to ABM Security as a Director of Security, responsible for scheduling, staffing, payroll, and the security department budget. In 2014, they joined SecurAmerica as a Director of Security, where they continued to handle similar responsibilities.
David Duffin attended Senn High School from 1982 to 1986, where they obtained a Diploma with a focus on Computers. In 2005, they briefly pursued studies in Computer Software Engineering at Chicago State University, although it is unclear if they completed a degree during that time.
