Steven Afdahl

Steven Afdahl is an Engineering Senior Manager at Securian Financial, where since December 2019, leadership has been provided for the implementation of Pension Risk Transfer on the ALIP system, alongside participation in committees to promote Agile methodologies and explore InsureTech opportunities. Prior to this role, Afdahl served as a Project Leader from 1996 to 2013 at the same company, where a technical strategy was developed for migrating annuity web applications from Microsoft IIS to WebSphere Application Server. Earlier positions included Senior Systems Analyst and Systems Analyst/Programmer Analyst, with experience in developing software using various programming languages. Afdahl holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Luther College, awarded in 1996.
