Fred Newberry

Fred Newberry is currently an advisor at Security Advisor Alliance. Fred previously worked as the director of customer solutions for cybersecurity at Cisco Systems from November 2007 to July 2011. In this role, they were responsible for the security practice lead for business development of security services in the Federal government. This included organizing, leading, and utilizing teams of experts from various departments in Cisco to identify and develop new information security solutions to expand existing markets in the public and commercial sectors.

Newberry would meet with customers to identify their requirements and solicit their input for developing new security solutions. Fred would then develop business cases, revenue projections, value propositions, and marketing strategies for introducing new security solutions. Newberry would also lead technical teams in development and testing of new solutions. In addition, they would identify business partners, develop, and execute “go to market plans”. Fred would also collaborate with marketing experts in developing new collateral for introducing new security solutions in the market place. Furthermore, they would provide training and recommend sales strategies to sales personnel. Lastly, they would identify sales metrics for measuring success in executing marketing strategies and for reporting status to other Cisco managers.

Newberry advocated new security solutions by speaking at customer conferences, webinars, panels, and seminars. Fred also served on various security technical advisory panels.

Fred Newberry started their educational career by obtaining a B.S. in Chemistry and Zoology from The University of Georgia. Fred then went on to obtain an M.S. in Computer Science from The George Washington University, School of Engineering and Applied Science. Lastly, they obtained an M.S. in National Resources Strategy with a focus in Information Technology from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
