Liane Shura, CISSP, CISA

Liane Shura is an experienced professional with a strong background in technology and security. Liane currently holds the position of Vice President, Security Research at Security Compass, a role they have been in since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Security Research at the same company from May 2020 to February 2022.

Before joining Security Compass, Liane worked as a Senior Consultant at Technology (Operational Risk, Data, Delivery), Research & Reporting from December 2018 to May 2020. Prior to this, Liane held various leadership roles at CIBC, including Director of Enterprise Gating - Technology Operational Risk from January 2015 to July 2016, Director of Governance, Gating (Technology Operational Risk), and Reporting from May 2009 to January 2015, and Director of Enterprise Gating - Technology Operational Risk from October 2003 to May 2009. In these roles, they were responsible for various aspects of technology operational risk management, including implementing enterprise-wide gating processes, conducting risk assessments, and providing operational governance and reporting.

Liane began their career at Canada Life as a Senior Manager of Web Hosting and Integration Services from December 1999 to September 2003. Liane recommended and delivered technology solutions and was accountable for service delivery for a global infrastructure to support Canada Life's applications and services.

Liane Shura, CISSP, CISA, holds a post-graduate degree in Telecommunications Management from Sheridan College. Liane also studied Business Computer Systems at the same institution. In terms of certifications, Liane obtained the Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) certification from ISACA in July 2020. Liane became a Certified SAFe Agilist, V3.0 through Fixion in 2016. Liane also achieved the ITIL Foundation Certification from Learning Tree International in 2014. Additionally, they hold the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)², obtained in January 2010.
