Ron Hawkins

Ron Hawkins is the Director of Industry Relations at the Security Industry Association (SIA), a role held since May 2012, overseeing initiatives related to data privacy, AI, drones and robotics, and public safety, as well as workforce development and research projects. Prior experience includes managing special projects and partnerships at the United States Air Force - Air National Guard, where Ron Hawkins has held the position of Superintendent since September 2005 and has been deployed to multiple locations including Afghanistan and Iraq. Ron Hawkins previously served as Manager of Communications at SIA from November 2008 to June 2011, and has a background in journalism as an Editorial Page Editor and Staff Writer at Potomac News. Academically, Ron Hawkins holds a Master of Arts in Journalism and Public Affairs from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bates College. Additionally, Ron Hawkins is a board member of the IAHSS Foundation and chairs the Foundation Research Committee.
