Elizabeth Wingo has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2009, they worked as a Photographer/Columnist for The Sunflower News while also serving as a Teaching Assistant at Wichita State University from 2010 t0 2013. Elizabeth then transitioned to the Urban League of Kansas, where they took on the role of Workforce Assistant/Workforce Development Coordinator from 2012 to 2013. During this time, they gained experience in career counseling, training programs, and healthcare certifications. From 2013 to 2015, Elizabeth worked at National American University as an Admissions and Business Development Advisor, and later as a Regional Career Services and Business Development Director. In 2015, they joined Wichita State University as a Student Academic Success Advisor and remained in this role until 2017. Most recently, Elizabeth held positions at Sedgwick County Government, starting as a Management Intern/ICMA Fellow from 2017 to 2018, then progressing to a Workers Compensation Specialist from 2018 to 2020, followed by the role of Risk Management Coordinator from 2020 to 2023. Currently, they serve as the Director of Risk Management at Sedgwick County Government, starting in August 2023.

Elizabeth Wingo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Women's Studies, with a minor in Anthropology from Wichita State University, which they completed in 2013. From 2015 to 2017, they pursued a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree at Wichita State University, with a focus on Graduate Certificate in Public Finance. Additionally, they are currently enrolled at the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, working towards acquiring an Associate in Risk Management designation. Finally, Elizabeth also holds a certificate in Advanced Occupational Ergonomics from Colorado State University.
