Madison Purcell is the Lead Structural Engineer at SEDS UCSD, focusing on designing shock-absorbing reusable rocket landing legs and optimizing truss structures for dynamic and static landings. As the Propellant Feed Systems Engineer, Madison leads a team in researching and designing cryogenic bipropellant feed systems for collegiate lander rockets, including developing testing procedures for components. Previously, Madison worked as a Broadcast Production Assistant at UC San Diego Athletics, where they produced live in-game graphics and managed audio outputs. As an Independent Contractor at Clayton Mobile Homes, Madison inspected mobile homes before shipment and reported any issues. Madison is currently pursuing their education at UC San Diego.
