Klaus Tochtermann

Klaus Tochtermann, received his Diploma and his PhD in Computer Science from Dortmund University (Germany). After a PostDoc at the Texas A&M University in the U.S. he moved to Austria in 2000. From 2000 to 2010 he was the director of Austria’s leading research institute for knowledge management, the Know-Center. In 2006 he was appointed as full professor in Computer Science at the Graz University of Technology. Since 2010, he has been director of the ZBW - Leibniz Information Centre for Economics in Kiel and Hamburg Germany). He also holds a full professor position for Digital Information Infrastructures in the Computer Science Department at Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel (Germany). Under his leadership the ZBW received the international LIBER Award for Library Innovation in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2014 ZBW was awarded “Library of the Year in Germany”. Klaus Tochtermann has repeatedly held guest professorships abroad, such as at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) or the UITM in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). Finally he is member in numerous national and international scientific expert committees.
