Scott Watkin BEM's work experience is as follows:

- Department of Health and Social Care (2009-2011): Scott served as the Co national director for learning disabilities, leading on the implementation of the Valuing People Now Government White Paper. Scott'srole involved advocating for the rights of people with learning disabilities and ensuring the successful delivery of the Valuing People Now initiative.

- Mencap (2011-2013): Scott worked as an Inclusion advisor at Mencap, where they established connections with other organizations and acted as a spokesperson for people with learning disabilities across the country. Scott also focused on promoting health within Mencap.

- SeeAbility (2011-present): Scott initially served as an Eye to Eye Ambassador, speaking at conferences and events to raise awareness and improve eye care for individuals with learning disabilities. Scott then became an Eye care and vision development officer, responsible for ensuring individuals with learning disabilities receive appropriate eye care. Additionally, they created a national Peer Educator Network, lobbied in Parliament on issues related to learning disabilities and eye care, and played a role in training individuals with learning disabilities to advocate for their own eye care needs. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Engagement, where they lead efforts to empower the people supported by SeeAbility to have a voice within the organization and externally in the social care sector.

Scott Watkin BEM has a diverse education history with a focus on horticulture, team leading, and vocational skills. Scott attended Isle of Wight College from an unknown start year to 2011, where they earned an NVQ in Team Leading. Additionally, they obtained a BTEC in Horticulture from Isle of Wight College in 2005 and again in 2004. Scott also pursued studies in Land and Environment, earning a GNVQ from Isle of Wight College in 2001. Scott further enhanced their skills in Amenity Horticulture through a City and Guilds program at Isle of Wight College in 2001. Prior to this, Scott completed City and Guilds programs in Animal Care and Amenity Horticulture in 2000. Scott also acquired communication skills through coursework at Isle of Wight College in 1999. During the same year, they pursued arts and media services through another City and Guilds program at Isle of Wight College. Scott'seducation continued with studies in numeracy and information technology at Isle of Wight College in 1999. Scott further expanded their skillset with an NVQ in Catering and Hospitality from Isle of Wight College in 1999. These educational achievements were preceded by their studies at Brent Knoll School in 1997, where they attained GCSEs in Art and Design, Design and Realisation, French, and Science. Additionally, they completed a Diploma of Vocational Education in Arts and Media Services and obtained a GCSE in Mathematics in 1997.
