M.D. Msc Vanessa Kerry

Vanessa Kerry, MD MSc has had an extensive and diverse work experience. Vanessa currently holds the position of Special Envoy for Climate Change and Health at the World Health Organization since 2023. In this role, they provide strategic counsel and advocates for global impact in advancing WHO's climate and health strategy. Furthermore, they serve as the Chief Executive Officer at Seed Global Health since 2011. Previously, they worked at Massachusetts General Hospital as a Doctor in Critical Care starting in 2011 and later became the Director of Program in Global Public Policy in 2021. Dr. Kerry also holds the position of Director of Program in Global Public Policy and Social Change at Harvard Medical School since 2010. Vanessa began their career as a Resident in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2007. Additionally, they worked as a Policy Consultant at Partners In Health from 2004 to 2005.

Vanessa Kerry, MD MSc, has an extensive education history that spans several prestigious institutions. Vanessa received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology from Yale University, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. Following this, they attended Harvard Medical School, where they pursued their medical degree (M.D.) and completed their studies from 2001 to 2007.

In 2004 and 2005, Vanessa Kerry furthered their education in the field of Health Policy, Planning and Financing at two distinguished institutions. Vanessa earned an M.Sc. degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and another M.Sc. degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London.

In 2018, Vanessa Kerry expanded their expertise in leadership by completing a certificate program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
