Seeds of Hope
Seeds of Hope is a program of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles (EDLA) that has been delivering community-based wellness services since 2014. We work at the intersection of public health, food justice, and environmental resilience, with a mission to cultivate wellness by helping people reconnect to the cycle of healthy food—growing it, preparing it, sharing it, and returning what we don’t use back to the earth as compost. Annually, we distribute more than 3.6 million pounds of rescued produce at 72 locations across Southern California by offering services that are place-based, culturally aware, and designed to reduce food access barriers for the most disadvantaged members of our communities. Our food distributions are service hubs for social determinants of health in places where people live, work, and gather. We don’t just deliver food—we create spaces where people feel nourished, supported, and connected.
