André Brandão

André Brandão's work experience begins in 2009 when they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at PET Computação (PETComp), where they conducted research and developed NCL applications for the Ginga Middleware used in the Japanese-Brazilian Digital TV System.

In 2011, they joined HCG Engenharia de Sistema Ltda as a Back-end Developer, where they worked on the development and support of a system for managing municipal tributes. André then moved to BR Ativos in the same role, contributing to the development of a similar system used by multiple cities in Maranhão, Brazil.

From 2011 to 2015, André worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Laboratory of Advanced Web Systems - LAWS/UFMA, focusing on the development of Cacuriá, an authoring tool for multimedia Learning Objects integrated with the iVoD service.

In 2014, they founded Mediabox Technologies and served as the Chief Executive, working on the development of Cacuriá and the Mestrar platform, allowing multimedia educational content creation for interactive TV and the web.

André then joined Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, where they held multiple roles. As a Data Scientist at ExACTa, they analyzed and explored data from Petrobras. Later, as a Data Scientist at ECOA, they worked on data analysis and exploration of data from the Public Prosecution and Court of Law in Rio de Janeiro. André also worked as an Associate Researcher at TeleMídia Lab on the development of the Ginga Middleware.

In 2021, André worked as a Course Instructor at Resilia Educação, teaching programming, data analysis, and data visualization. André also contributed to the development of content for a Data Analyst course in partnership with iFood.

Most recently, André served as a Data Science Manager at Gaivota and Seedz, where they led data science teams in the analysis and exploration of data from agribusiness. André'sresponsibilities included pattern identification, development of prediction models, data analysis, machine learning modeling, clustering, implementation of ML models in a big data environment, data visualization, storytelling, and API development.

Overall, André Brandão has a strong background in data science, system development, and research, with a focus on agribusiness, legal processes, and multimedia educational content creation.

André Brandão holds a Doutorado em Informática (Ph.D. in Informatics) with a specialization in Data Science from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. André completed this degree from 2016 to 2020.

Prior to their doctoral studies, André Brandão completed a Mestrado em Ciência da Computação (Master's in Computer Science) with a focus on Multimedia from UFMA - Universidade Federal do Maranhão. André pursued this degree from 2013 to 2015.

André Brandão also holds a Bacharel em Ciência da Computação (Bachelor's in Computer Science) with a specialization in Multimedia from UFMA - Universidade Federal do Maranhão. André completed this degree from 2008 to 2012.

Additionally, André Brandão obtained a certification in General Training with an overall band score of 6 and a CEFR Level of B2 from IELTS Official in November 2020.
