E'Lois Thomas

She earned a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in business from Northcentral University, an MBA from Walsh College, and an accounting degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. Her research includes a qualitative multiple case study on diversity, equity, and inclusion for the sustainability of small and medium enterprises. Dr. Thomas also completed a certificate program with Yale School of Management in their executive education series on women’s leadership. She is also a six-sigma black belt professional and has a professional certification in green energy management from San Diego University.

Dr. Thomas serves as the vice-chair of the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) board, a board member of the American Association of Blacks in Energy MI chapter, a mentor with the Council of Women in Energy and Environmental Leadership (CWEEL), and is the treasurer of Advancing Women in Energy. She also serves as a board member with Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL), Franklin Wright Settlements, and Results Mentoring. She was recognized by Crain's Detroit as a Notable Leader in Sustainability (2022) and a Notable Woman in Finance (2020). She was also recognized by the Michigan Chronicle as a Woman of Excellence (2013) and by Real Times Media, its parent company, as a Who's Who in Black Detroit.
