Nils Carlsson is a Staff Data Scientist at Seen since November 2023, with previous experience as a Senior Data Scientist at Avant from February 2017 to May 2023, where Nils developed the core underwriting model for the company's credit card product and created over ten supplementary models across various departments. Prior roles include serving as a Public Health Research Coordinator at Washington University School of Medicine, where Nils collaborated with Dr. Su-Hsin Chang on public health data analysis and journal publications, and as a Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison focusing on the conductivity of metals. Nils also participated in a summer research program at Washington University in St. Louis with Dr. Jr-Shin Li. Nils holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Math, Engineering, and Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, completed in 2014, and attended Galvanize in San Francisco in 2016.
