Deserae Richards

Deserae Richards has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Deserae currently works as a Curriculum Developer at Seesaw Learning since March 2022. Prior to this, they were an Associate Account Executive for K-12 Partnerships at the same company from July 2020 to March 2022.

Deserae also has experience in the education field. Deserae worked as an Adjunct Instructor and University Supervisor at James Madison University starting from August 2019. Deserae was also an Adjunct Faculty at Eastern Mennonite University since January 2022.

Before their university roles, Deserae taught English as a Second Language and 1st Grade Dual Language at Harrisonburg City Schools from August 2015 to July 2021. Deserae also worked as an Adjunct English as a Second Language Instructor at Study Group from January 2020 to June 2020.

Deserae began their career in education as an ESOL Instructor at the ESOL Career Development Academy and held various assistant roles at James Madison University from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Substitute Teacher at Harrisonburg City Schools from August 2012 to May 2015.

Deserae also briefly served as a Reading Specialist at Boys & Girls Clubs of America in May 2014.

Deserae Richards began their education in 2010 at James Madison University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Teaching alongside Modern Foreign Language. Deserae successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2014. Following this, Deserae continued their education at the same institution and enrolled in the Master of Arts in Teaching program, specializing in Teaching. Deserae attended James Madison University from 2014 to 2015, completing their master's degree in that time.
