David Leavenworth

Vice President Theater Operations & Facilities at Segerstrom Center for the Arts

David Leavenworth has a diverse work experience in the arts and entertainment industry. David started their career at Knott's Berry Farm in 1984, where they held various roles in entertainment operations and technical management until 2001. David then worked at Wabash College as a Fine Arts Center Facility Operations Manager in 2001.

In 2002, Leavenworth was a Safety Coordinator at Knott's Berry Farm and in 2003, they worked at Walt Disney Imagineering as a Sr. Production Manager/Project Manager for Disneyland Hong Kong.

In 2004, they joined South Coast Repertory as an Associate Production Manager.

Leavenworth then moved to Segerstrom Center for the Arts in 2008, where they held positions such as Operations Manager and Director of Theater Operations until 2014.

David later joined Chapman University in 2014 as the Associate Director of Programming & Theatre Operations at the Musco Center for the Arts. From 2017 to 2019, they served as the Sr. Director of the Musco Center for the Arts at Chapman University.

In 2019, Leavenworth returned to Segerstrom Center for the Arts as the Sr. Director of Theater Operations & Facilities. David is currently serving as the Vice President of Theater Operations & Facilities, overseeing various responsibilities related to campus operations, COVID re-opening plans, capital projects, security operations, and productions/venue operations.

Overall, Leavenworth has extensive experience in theater operations, facilities management, and project coordination within the arts and entertainment industry.

David Leavenworth attended Allen Hancock College from 1983 to 1984. During this time, they focused on studying in the field of Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts. Later, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts from California State University, Long Beach, from 1997 to 2002.
