Farooq Omer has extensive work experience in risk management and leadership roles. Farooq currently holds the position of Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at SEI since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York from 2020 to 2023, overseeing risk management. From 2018 to 2020, Farooq served as the Global Chief Risk Officer at AmTrust Financial Services, where they were responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies. Farooq also held the position of Managing Director at S&P Global Ratings from 2002 to 2018, leading consumer credit business and overseeing enterprise risk management. Before that, Farooq gained experience as an Investment Banking Summer Associate at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown and as a Consulting Research Analyst at New England Pension Consultants, Inc. Farooq began their career as an Investment Analyst at Mercer Investment Consulting, Inc. in 1996.

Farooq Omer holds a BBA degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Farooq also has an MBA degree in Finance from Yale School of Management, which they completed from 2000 to 2002. In addition, Farooq Omer has obtained various certifications throughout their career, including the Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder designation from the CFA Institute in 1999 and the NACD Directorship Certification in December 2019. Farooq has also earned certificates from Harvard Business School Executive Education, including Program Certificates in Audit Committees in a New Era of Governance, Compensation Committees: New Challenges, New Solutions, Making Corporate Boards More Effective, and The Corporate Director Certificate. Farooq Omer obtained the CERT Certificate in Cyber-Risk Oversight from the National Association of Corporate Directors in 2019.
