Tobin joined Seidler Equity Partners in 2009. His responsibilities include sourcing and closing new investments, advising partner companies on strategic planning, and helping execute strategic priorities such as operational improvements, add-on acquisitions, organizational development, and other growth initiatives. He has served as a board member of numerous private and not-for-profit organizations.
Tobin has worn several hats prior to joining Seidler, including corporate business development, management consulting with Bain & Company, and as a business operator. After college, Tobin joined General Electric’s Information Systems Management Program and completed stints in GE’s Corporate Audit and Business Development groups.
Tobin helped lead the growth of a small marketing business, Imagitas, and later joined Tomah Products (a specialty chemical manufacturer that later became a SEP partner company) as its Chief Operating Officer. After the sale of Tomah to Air Products, Tobin joined Tomah’s Chairman, Steve King, in founding King Capital, a family office where Tobin served as its Managing Director.
Tobin’s experience has spanned multiple industries including consumer goods, specialty chemicals, automotive, music publishing, food and ingredients, building and design products, and various other industries. He has worked with clients and partner companies in Europe, Asia, South Africa, and Latin America over his career.
Economics and Computer Applications. He later earned a Master of Business Education at Harvard University where he received the HBS Service Award.
