America Valdes

America Valdes is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in media production and digital content management. Currently serving as a Communications Specialist at SEIU UHW since May 2016, America previously held an Internal Organizing Intern position at SEIU Local 721. America’s experience also includes roles as a Media Production Assistant Coordinator for the Latino/a Queer Arts and Film Festival, where responsibilities encompassed managing media content and creating promotional materials. Additionally, America contributed to Evolutionary Productions in production and web management, as well as earlier positions focusing on voter registration initiatives and documentary production assistance. America Valdes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Digital Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a minor in Latin America and Latino Studies.
