Mike Chavez

Mike Chavez is a seasoned communications professional with over two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Specialist for SEIU UHW since January 2012, Mike has also held roles such as Communications Coordinator for SEIU United Service Workers West and Communications Director at Californians for Justice, where responsibilities included overseeing media strategy and message development for statewide campaigns. Earlier career highlights include organizing a campaign against Proposition 209 and serving as Art Director for El Mensajero newspaper. Mike holds a B.A. in Comparative Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
