Jacob Dreyer

Jacob Dreyer has extensive experience as a software engineer, with a focus on the oil and gas industry. Jacob is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at Sekal AS since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of a Senior Software Engineer at Storebrand from January 2022 to July 2022.

Jacob'sprevious experience includes working as a Consultant at Petroware AS from August 2020 to December 2021, and as the CEO, Co-owner, and Principal Software Architect at the same company from February 2015 to August 2020. At Petroware AS, they were responsible for various tasks including team collaboration, system infrastructure and architecture, requirements analysis, implementation, testing, and customer account management, among others.

Jacob also founded Fluxens, a centralized well log server running on Amazon AWS that replaced convoluted technologies like WITSML and ETP. Fluxens was later acquired by Logtek in 2020. Additionally, they have worked as a Senior Software Engineer (Contracting) at Schlumberger, Logtek AS, Equinor, WesternGeco, and Numerical Rocks, gaining valuable experience in these roles.

Jacob Dreyer obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, graduating in 1989. Following this, they pursued further education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where they completed a Master's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, graduating in 1992.
