Ron McDowell

Ron McDowell has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years in automation and controls engineering. Ron started their career in 1989 as a Service Engineer & Lead Tech at Automated Solutions Inc, where they mentored technicians and assembled automated assembly equipment. In 1993, they joined Wright Industries as a Senior Field Service Engineer, where they installed and serviced various types of automated processes for different industries.

In 1995, Ron moved to Motorola Manufacturing Systems, where they initially worked as a Controls Engineer, designing custom controls solutions for semiconductor equipment. Ron then transitioned to the role of Manufacturing Manager, overseeing the manufacturing floor and managing a team of technicians and machinists.

From 2001 to 2006, Ron worked as a Self Employed Contractor, providing automation controls consulting services, including equipment integration and control coding for semiconductor fabs. Ron also worked on automated guided vehicle installation and configuration.

In 2006, Ron joined Maverick Technologies as a Sr. Controls Engineer, where they were involved in the construction and startup of Intel Semiconductor Fab 32. Ron also established controls design guidelines and developed PLC and SCADA template libraries.

Ron is responsible for managing the specification, design, and procurement of capital automation equipment for aerospace composite component manufacturing. Ron also drives automation improvements across five facilities and leads the migration of processes towards Industry 4.
