Alan Rankin

Alan Rankin is an experienced professional with a diverse background in human resources, governance, and oversight. Currently serving as an Independent Member of Police Misconduct Panels for the North West Police and Crime Commissioners since February 2025, Alan also holds the position of Chair of Governors at Cockermouth School and has been involved in various roles at Sellafield Ltd, including Diversity and Inclusion Lead and Head of HR Case Management, since November 2000. Previously, Alan chaired the Ethics and Integrity Panel at the Cumbria Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner from October 2016 to March 2023 and worked as an HR Manager at Corus Rail (British Steel) from September 1992 to October 2000. Alan earned a degree in Business Studies with a focus on HR from Northumbria University from 1988 to 1992.
