Deborah Schulman Silverthorn has a long and varied career in the media industry. Deborah began their career in 1988 as a Writer/Field Producer for Ron Miziker Productions - Sunkist K.I.D.S. Deborah then moved on to DIC Entertainment in 1989 as a Production Coordinator for "Super Mario Brothers" and "Legend of Zelda". In 1990, they worked as a Freelance Writer/Producer for both IPTV Productions and Criterion Production Co. In 2001, they became a Reporter for Dallas Jewish Week. From 2003 to 2004, they were the Director of Communications for Yavneh Academy of Dallas and Akiba Academy of Dallas. In 2008, they became the Communications Coordinator for Congregation Anshai Torah. Finally, in 2014, they became the Director of Business Development & Marketing for Semaphore Mobile, specializing in the development of application software for iPhone and android operating systems.

Deborah Schulman Silverthorn attended Hollywood High School, Los Angeles, CA from 1978 to 1981 and received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Broadcast Journalism. Deborah then attended the University of Southern California from 1981 to 1985 and received a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism & Communications.
