Karen Kawachi

Karen Kawachi is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in event management, education, and board service. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Internal Events at Semper Fi Fund since June 2012, Karen has also contributed as a Board Member at Copley-Price YMCA from 2011 to 2020. Previous roles include work in the Entertainment Department for the San Diego Padres from 2002 to June 2012 and an Aviculturist position at SeaWorld San Diego from 2000 to 2002. Karen began their career in education as a Teacher for Sweetwater Union High School District from 1998 to 2000. Academically, Karen holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Anthropology from The University of Kansas.
