John Casey

John Casey is the Head of Business Development at Senda Biosciences overseeing business development and alliance management. John has been part of the Flagship Pioneering group since 2015 and is the founder of Senda’s predecessor companies.

At Flagship, he worked as part of a venture creation team, exploring innovative ideas and opportunities, and developing critical scientific and business components at numerous startups across agriculture, nutrition, and therapeutics. He was part of the founding team of Inari Agriculture, where he led their IP strategy and played a central role in R&D strategy.

John earned his doctorate in biological engineering at MIT, where he designed and developed thermostable enzymes in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry for cleaner, more versatile drug manufacturing. John received his B.S. in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University.
