Raja Nurashirin

Raja Nurashirin has over nine years of work experience, primarily in the biotechnology industry. Raja is currently working as the Head of Project Management at Sengenics, a position they have held since April 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as a Technical Support Manager from May 2019 to March 2021 and as a Clinical Genomics Manager from May 2017 to April 2019. Raja also has experience as a Technical Services Manager at Sengenics from September 2016 to April 2017, August 2015 to August 2016, and July 2014 to July 2015. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Project Manager from October 2013 to June 2014 and as a Scientific Executive from May 2013 to September 2013 at Sengenics. Raja began their career as a Trainee at Sengenics from October 2012 to February 2013, where they gained exposure to various aspects of the biotechnology industry, including financial and documentation management, sample testing, and exome sequencing analysis. Prior to this, they participated in the Trainee of BEST program at Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation for six months, focusing on personal and professional development in areas such as interpersonal skills, leadership, and business management. Raja also has experience as an Industrial Trainee at Kelantan Biotech Corporation Sdn Bhd, where they worked in the tissue culture laboratory and was responsible for media preparation and primary culture.

Raja Nurashirin started their education journey in 2008 at Penang Matriculation College, where they pursued a degree in Life Sciences with a focus on Biology, General. Raja completed this program in 2009. Raja then went on to join Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2009 and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, with a specialization in Molecular Biology. Following their bachelor's degree, they attended the BeST Alumni Programme in the year 2012-2013 to advance their knowledge in Bio-Business.
