Mark Furman began their work experience in 1990 as an Actuarial Analyst at Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Mark then worked at Coopers & Lybrand as a Senior Consultant in Health & Welfare before joining Physicians Health Services as the Director of Actuarial Services. In 2001, Furman became the Director of Financial Operations at Lenox Hill Hospital, where they stayed until 2013. During their time at Lenox Hill, they also served as the Chief Financial Officer at SeniorCare Emergency Medical Services, one of the largest ambulance providers in New York City. Furman then joined North Shore-LIJ Health System as the Director of Managed Care and later as the AVP Financial & Analytics Management for Managed Care/Population Health Management.

Mark Furman attended Yeshiva University from 1988 to 1990. During this period, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a focus on Mathematics.
