Rutger Wichers

Rutger Wichers is the CEO of Sensara. Rutger has over 10 years of experience in finance and management.

Rutger began their career as a financial consultant for Baarsma Wine Group. Rutger then worked as an assistant controller for SAMR Marktvinders and Ratio Finance. In 2009, they became a financial controller for EY VODW.

In 2010, Rutger joined Smit & zoon as their finance manager. Rutger was responsible for leading the finance team, annual reports, budgeting, monthly reporting, cash flow, and working capital. Rutger was also the Microsoft AX Key User for finance, BI Reporting, authorizations, and internal controls.

In 2015, Rutger left Smit & zoon to join Phillips-Medisize as their manager of finance, IT, and supply chain. Rutger was responsible for leading the supply chain, production planning, purchasing, sales, inventory, and logistics. Rutger also worked with the GM and HR on a huge restructuring project.

In 2020, Rutger became the CEO of Sensara.

Rutger Wichers has a Master of Science in Financial Management from Nyenrode Business University, a Bachelor of Engineering in Technology Management from Hanzehogeschool Groningen / Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, and a degree in Business administration / Bedrijfskunde / Business management / Bedrijfsmanagement from the University of Groningen. Rutger also completed the Leading Change Programme at London Business School.
