Alex Thurston

Alex Thurston has been working in various roles since 1988. Alex began their career as a Contractors Surveyor at T. Butler & Son (Sawston) Ltd. From 1993 to 2004, they held the role of Maintenance Supervisor at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, where they were responsible for internal building maintenance, laboratory and office refurbishment and alterations, and plant and equipment maintenance and installations. From 2004 to 2013, they were the UK Facilities Manager at Trinity Biotech (UK) Ltd, managing UK buildings and facilities and organizing and carrying out routine maintenance and refurbishment works. From 2013 to 2014, they were the Facilities/EHS Manager at TwistDx. From 2019 to 2021, they held two concurrent roles: UK Facilities Manager at STEMCELL Technologies, and Airbrush Artist at Ttxela Productions. Most recently, they have been working as the Facilities Manager at Sense Biodetection Ltd since 2021.

Alex Thurston attended Sawston Village College from 1984 to 1988. Alex then attended Cambridge College of Arts & Technology from 1988 to 1993, where they earned an ONC & HNC in Building Studies.
