Medical Device Engineer at Sense Biodetection

Biranavan Sivapuratharasu, PhD has worked in various roles since 2011. In 2013, they were an Engineering Intern for Transport for London, where they investigated the ventilation and cooling system of underground stations and the New Routemaster bus, conducted fieldwork, and contributed to the managing projects and the designing of new tube stations. In 2015, they were a Graduate CAD/CAE Engineer for Jaguar Land Rover, where they gained experience in the CAE and CAD world of engineering, and developed into a CAD Engineer designing components, creating technical drawings and applying GD&T for manufacture. From 2017-2021, they were a Director of Curriculum and Mathematics Teacher for A+Tec, a Mathematics and Science tutoring company, where they managed a group of university students that teach mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology to years 7-13 students. Additionally, they were a PhD Student at The Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies at Imperial College London from 2017-2021, where they aimed to understand the aetiology and mechanics behind low back pain in traumatic amputees, quantify spinal posture motion and loading during daily activities, and develop recommendations on spinal health for amputees. Finally, in 2021, they became a Medical Device Engineer for Sense Biodetection Ltd.

Biranavan Sivapuratharasu obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2021. Biranavan previously obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2015. Prior to that, they attended Tiffin School from 2004 to 2011.
