Jenna Bell

SVP, Nutritional Science at Sensei

Two-time Ironwoman, published author, former college professor and mother of two girls (and one dog), Dr. Jenna Bell joins the Sensei Ag team with 25 years of experience in food, nutrition and wellness. A registered dietitian and exercise physiologist, Jenna’s experience includes patient care in infectious disease, HIV/AIDS and advanced nutrition support, sports nutrition, academia and of course the food industry.

Jenna began her career in academia at the University of New Mexico. This role led to an esteemed position as a professor of medical dietetics at Ohio State University.

From textbooks and teaching to the corporate boardroom, Jenna joined Pollock Communications, a public relations firm focused on food, nutrition and wellness. As Senior Vice President of Food and Wellness, Jenna was instrumental in message development, scientific translation, public policy and regulatory support, assessment of consumer purchasing trends, crisis management and launching new consumer products for her clients.

During her 13 years with Pollock, Jenna partnered with some of the world’s top wellness and commodities brands ranging from Unilever and Danone North America to Quaker Oats, Abbott Labs and PepsiCo Global Nutrition.

Most recently, Jenna served as Vice President of Nutritional Science at Crop One Holdings, Inc., a vertical farming company that owns FreshBox Farms in Millis, MA and a joint venture with Emirates Flight Catering in Dubai. Jenna is a well published consumer and technical writer and continues to be an avid presenter on the health, fitness and nutrition tracks. She is a contributing editor for Today’s Dietitian and has co-authored two books including Energy to Burn: The Ultimate Nutrition Guide to Fuel your Active Lifestyle (Wiley 2009) and Launching your Dietetics Career (ADA 2011). Jenna earned her Bachelors in Nutritional Science from the University of New Hampshire and her PhD, RD and Masters from the University of New Mexico.
