Mehrdad Mir Shafiei, PhD

Mehrdad Mir Shafiei, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mehrdad is currently the Co-founder and CTO of Sensequake, a company focused on performing smart risk assessment of civil structures using sensor data. They provide patented structural health monitoring services through their partners using IoT vibration sensors and a cloud platform.

Prior to this, Mehrdad worked as a Researcher at Ericsson from February 2014 to January 2016, where they specialized in short reach optical interconnects, optical coupling technologies, and silicon photonics.

Mehrdad also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at McGill University from October 2012 to January 2016.

Before their time at McGill, Mehrdad held various roles at Université Laval, starting as a Research Assistant from April 2012 to September 2012. Mehrdad then progressed to becoming a PhD student from September 2008 to April 2012, and prior to that, they were an M.Sc student from September 2006 to August 2008.

Mehrdad's educational journey began at the University of Tehran, where they completed their B.Sc in electrical engineering from September 2002 to August 2006.

Mehrdad Mir Shafiei, PhD pursued their education in the field of Electrical Engineering. From 2002 to 2006, they attended the University of Tehran for their undergraduate degree. Following that, they enrolled at Université Laval from 2006 to 2012, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
