Dr. Georg Schaumann has a diverse work experience in various biotechnology and research institutes. Dr. Georg is currently the Founder & CEO of SenseUp Biotechnology, a company they established in 2017. Prior to this, they worked at Forschungszentrum Jülich from 2014 to 2017, where they led the GO-Bio project SenseUp, focusing on taking biosensor-based natural evolution from science to market. During this project, they received 2.5 million Euros through the BMBF initiative Gründungsoffensive Biotechnologie GO-BIO. Before joining Forschungszentrum Jülich, Dr. Schaumann worked as a PHD Researcher at the same institute from 2010 to 2013. Their earlier experience includes working as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Max Planck Institutes Tübingen from 2008 to 2010.
Dr. Georg Schaumann's education history begins with obtaining their Abitur from Aloisiuskolleg Bonn between 1992 and 2001. Afterward, they pursued a pre-degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at the University of Düsseldorf from 2002 to 2004. Dr. Schaumann then attended RWTH Aachen University from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained their Diploma in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Finally, in 2012, they completed their PhD in the same field at The University of Tokyo.
