Sebastian Nufer has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles.
Sebastian began their career in 2013 as an intern at JAQUET Technology Group.
In 2015, they joined M-Solv Ltd as a Research Engineer while pursuing their Industrial PhD studies in a Marie-Curie Fellowship. During this time, they focused on gas sensing and supercapacitor applications using nanomaterials in scalable manufacturing processes. Sebastian was responsible for producing their own nanomaterials using a laser process and characterizing them for supercapacitor and gas sensing applications. Sebastian also gained complementary skills such as presentation skills and writing a business plan for new technologies developed within the company. Sebastian remained with M-Solv Ltd until 2019, progressing to the role of Senior Development Engineer.
In 2019, Sebastian Nufer started working at Sensirion as a Junior R&D Engineer. Sebastian quickly advanced to the position of R&D Engineer in January 2021.
Sebastian Nufer completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Maschinenbau und Verfahrenstechnik from ETH Zürich in the years 2010 to 2014. Sebastian then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Micro- and Nanosystems from ETH Zürich from 2014 to 2015. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Sussex where they successfully obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Material Physics, completing their studies in 2018.
