Socrates Foschini

Teamleader R&d Process Engineering at Sensirion

Socrates Foschini has a diverse work experience with a strong focus on research and development. Socrates is currently working as a Research Development Process Engineer at Sensirion since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zürich from November 2020 to October 2021. Socrates also served as a Doctoral Student at ETH Zürich, specializing in Additive Process Engineering of Biopolymer-Based Porous Solids for Novel Food Texturization Building Blocks at the Laboratory of Food Process Engineering from April 2016 to October 2020.

Before joining ETH Zürich, Socrates worked as a Research Assistant at ETH Zürich, where they were involved in the production of nano-particle powders at the Human Nutrition Laboratory and the Particle Technology Laboratory from March 2014 to December 2014. Socrates also has experience as a Quality Control Engineer at Korfi S.A Milk and Dairy Industry from January 2014 to March 2014.

Socrates Foschini began their research career at ETH Zürich as a Research Assistant, where they contributed to a study on human obesity and iodine at the Human Nutrition Laboratory from November 2013 to December 2013. Socrates also worked at the Laboratory of Food and Soft Materials from November 2012 to December 2013.

Socrates Foschini pursued their education in the field of food science and food process engineering at ETH Zürich. Socrates obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science from ETH Zürich between 2010 and 2013. Following this, they enrolled in the Master's Degree program in Food Process Engineering at the same institution from 2014 to 2016. Building upon their previous education, Socrates Foschini continued their academic journey at ETH Zürich and achieved a Doctor of Science degree in Food Process Engineering from 2016 to 2021.
