Thomas Schalch

Thomas Schalch has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Thomas is currently working as an R&D Engineer - Technical Lead Firmware at Sensirion since May 2021. Prior to this role, they worked at V-ZUG AG from November 2016 to April 2021. At V-ZUG AG, they held multiple roles including Team Leader Software Engineering (IoT) from May 2018 to April 2021, and Embedded Software Engineer (IoT) from November 2016 to April 2021. During their time at V-ZUG AG, they were responsible for implementing connectivity functionalities in household appliances, developing a new generation of connectivity modules, and creating an IoT-SDK for appliance control units.

Before joining V-ZUG AG, Thomas worked as a Web Developer / Owner at schalch.net from January 2012 to October 2016. Thomas also gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at ETH Zürich from February 2016 to June 2016, and as a Teacher for Computer Engineering at VSETH - Verband der Studierenden an der ETH from June 2014 to June 2015. Additionally, they completed an internship in Web Publishing at persönlich Verlags AG from September 2010 to February 2011.

Thomas Schalch completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from ETH Zürich, spanning from 2011 to 2016. Thomas has also obtained the certification of "Microsoft Certified: Azure IoT Developer Specialty" from Microsoft in July 2021.
