Giorgio Patrini has extensive experience in the field of artificial intelligence and digital forensics. Giorgio is currently a Co-Founder at Mystral.ai, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to this, they were the Co-Founder, CEO, and Chief Scientist at Sensity, where they focused on KYC and fraudulent document detection, as well as deepfake detection and monitoring. Giorgio also served as a Member of the Advisory Committee at the World Economic Forum from April 2021 to September 2021. In addition, they have held various research positions, including being a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Amsterdam, a Research Scientist/Engineer at CSIRO's Data61, a PhD Student at NICTA, and a Research Intern at Inria. Giorgio also worked as a Resident at betaworks and as a Research Intern at Commonwealth Bank. Prior to their research roles, Giorgio was a Scientific Cofounder at Waynaut, an online mobility startup that raised €1.6M.
Giorgio Patrini started their education journey in 2006 at Politecnico di Milano, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Engineering, completing their studies in 2009. Giorgio then continued their academic pursuits at the same institution, obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Engineering from 2009 to 2011. Giorgio further advanced their education by enrolling at The Australian National University, where they engaged in research and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Machine Learning between 2013 and 2016.
