Christos Zacharopoulos, Ph.D

Christos Zacharopoulos, Ph.D, has an extensive work experience in the field of data science, machine learning, and neuroscience. Christos is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at Sensome. Prior to this, they worked at Sama Therapeutics, where they held the positions of Principal Machine Learning Engineer and Senior Machine Learning Engineer.

Before joining Sama Therapeutics, Christos worked at CEA as a Data Scientist, focusing on machine learning and neuroscience in the healthtech industry. Christos conducted several experiments, collected and analyzed large volumes of data, and coordinated with international teams.

Prior to CEA, Christos worked at INSERM as a Data Scientist, specializing in signal processing in the healthtech sector. Christos played a key role in research software system development and data analysis, enabling global collaboration with the USA.

Christos also gained research experience at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging, where they worked as a Research Assistant and Data Scientist. Christos utilized advanced machine learning techniques to analyze high-dimensional animal data and contributed to research activities and scientific paper submissions.

Furthermore, Christos worked as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Medical Physics Laboratory at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). Christos evaluated brain and behavioral data and assisted in research and paper submission activities.

Christos also served as a Research Assistant at Alzheimer Hellas, where they contributed to healthtech research. Christos has teaching experience as well, having worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Computer Science Laboratory at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Christos Zacharopoulos, Ph.D, has an extensive education history in the fields of cognitive neuroscience, applied machine learning, and physics. Christos obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Applied Machine Learning from Sorbonne University from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they pursued a Research Master degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from Radboud University between 2015 and 2017. Christos started their academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Physics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) from 2010 to 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Christos has acquired several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Christos obtained a certificate as a Machine Learning DevOps Engineer from Udacity in May 2023. Christos also achieved the title of TensorFlow Developer from DeepLearning.AI in September 2021.
