Solon Karagiannopoulos

Solon Karagiannopoulos has extensive experience in instrumentation and automation, currently serving as the Instrumentation & Automation Lead at Sensor Coating Systems since December 2016, where responsibilities include developing bespoke systems, leading engineering teams, and managing government co-funded R&D projects. Prior to this role, Solon worked as an Instrumentation Engineer at TDL SENSORS LTD, focusing on the design and testing of tunable diode laser gas analyzers, and as a Product Development Engineer, producing documentation for prototypes. Academic experience includes a PhD from the University of Manchester, where research involved opto-electronic schemes for water vapor measurement, as well as earlier work as an Opto-electronics Engineer at Amphotonix Ltd, specializing in Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers for optical networks. Solon holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.
