Omer Faruqui

Omer Faruqui has extensive work experience in the information technology and business sectors. Omer is currently working as a Senior Information Technology Consultant at Sentaca since October 2019.

Prior to their current role, Omer worked at Manulife Financial as a Product Manager from January 2013 to September 2018. During their time at Manulife Financial, they demonstrated strong capabilities in product and process management. Omer effectively utilized vendor and partner relationships to enhance capabilities and successfully managed the product roadmap and integrated customer feedback into future releases.

Before their stint at Manulife Financial, Omer served as a Product Manager / Senior Business Analyst at Benesure Canada Inc. from March 2010 to January 2013. In this role, they led teams in a successful due diligence exercise for the acquisition of two companies. Additionally, they managed the development of an insurance comparison engine targeted towards consumers. Omer's responsibilities also included leading teams for data analysis, design, development, and maintenance of core mortgage creditor insurance applications.

From March 2008 to February 2010, Omer worked as a Senior Business Analyst at HomeEquity Bank (CHIP). In this role, they were part of the IT team responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of proprietary applications used in the reverse mortgage process. Omer handled the product roadmap and analyzed sales data for strategic planning purposes.

Prior to HomeEquity Bank, Omer worked at PitchPoint Solutions as a Business Analyst/QA Lead from March 2004 to February 2008. Here, they played a significant role in building the Application Management Systems (AMS) platform that supported over 7000 mortgage brokers across Canada. Omer was involved in designing, testing, enhancing, and supporting the application.

Their career began at Netstar Solutions in 1998, where they served as a Project Manager/Business Analyst/QA Lead until 2004. During their time at Netstar Solutions, Omer successfully completed various IT projects for companies such as Filogix Inc, Basis100, and Bell Canada. Noteworthy achievements include deploying hardware and software equipment to 2500 Bell Canada employees before the Y2K deadline, managing the re-write of the Bell Canada billing application in a short span of 3 months, and leading a QA team in testing various Filogix products.

Omer Faruqui completed their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Finance & International Business from Northeastern University from 1990 to 1995. In 2011 to 2012, they attended Ryerson University to study Fundamentals of Project Management. More recently, in 2020, they obtained a Master Track Certificate in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris. In terms of additional certifications, Omer obtained various certifications in topics such as Agile Project Management, Scrum, Artificial Intelligence for Project Managers, and more. These additional certifications were obtained from institutions like LinkedIn and Coursera Course Certificates.
