Katherine Matthews

Katherine Matthews has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Katherine began their career in 2006 as a Summer Student at Shiningbank Energy Ltd. and later worked as a Summer Student at Nexen Inc. in 2007. In 2008, they served as a Petrophysics Summer Student at Talisman Energy. Katherine then worked as a Reservoir Engineer at Talisman Energy from September 2009 to March 2013. Katherine then joined Crescent Point Energy, where they held the role of Senior Development Engineer from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, they took a one-year educational leave of absence from Crescent Point to pursue a full-time MBA at the University of Oxford. Following their MBA, Katherine returned to Crescent Point as a Team Lead, Engineering from August 2018 to June 2019. Katherine then transitioned to Sentinel Peak Resources, where they held the role of Senior Evaluations Reservoir Engineer from June 2019 to May 2022. Currently, they are working at Sentinel Peak Resources as a Business Development Manager, a role they have held since May 2022. In addition to their industry roles, Katherine also served as an Investor at Denver Angels starting from April 2021.

Katherine Matthews has a diverse educational background and multiple certifications. Katherine completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Oxford from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Geological Engineering from Queen's University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, Katherine obtained their High School Diploma from Havergal College.

In terms of certifications, Katherine holds the title of "Member" from the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers, obtained in April 2021. Katherine also completed the program "Maximizing Your Leadership Potential" at the Center for Creative Leadership in December 2020. Furthermore, they are a Professional Engineer (P.Eng), accredited by The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) since December 2013. Additionally, Katherine has attained the CFA Level I certification from the CFA Institute in June 2012.
